What We Do

The Aim of GBMA

To advance the development of the gypsum wallboard industry in Australasia.

To present a unified and coordinated approach to addressing issues in relation to, but not limited to Safety, Sustainability, Installation and Compliance to Standards Australia, Standards New Zealand and government building regulations.

The GBMA strongly supports compliance

The Australian/New Zealand standard AS/NZS 2589:2017 Gypsum linings – Application and finishing pertains to our industry. The objective of this standard is to provide manufacturers, designers and users of gypsum linings with requirements for the application and finishing of such linings in residential and commercial construction applications. This standard provides a reference for the building industry and specifiers and a basic Standard for adoption in contracts.

GBMA is the industry body for plasterboard manufacturers in Australia and New Zealand. Members include CSR Gyprock, Siniat by Etex, Knauf and Winstone Wallboards.
